Ride the Cyclone
Director: Jeremy Franklin
Karnak Actor: Caelan Jessop
The “Karnak Start Up” was utilized for when the Karnak would be plugged in by someone on stage. I wanted to create a start up that sounded like an old animatronic being started up after years while experiencing some technical issues, which is why the end of the sound effect sounds like glitching or electricity.

The “Karnak Loonies” sound effect is before Karnak first interacts with the main characters and is activated. I used lines from the Karnak actor for this along with some sound editing and vocal manipulation on the Audition Program. I wanted to create this idea that because he hasnt been activated in a very long time and he is an old piece of technology, I wanted it to sound like his voice was damaged as well, which is why the voice glitches and comes in and out.
The “Karnak Flurry” effect is when Karnak is at the end of his rope and is about to die. Within the sound effect it has some recorded voice lines by the actor himself that are different fortunes that Karnak has told other unfortunate souls before. it also includes metal grinding and electrical glitching to express the idea that his animatronic body is breaking down and destorying itself, ultimately ending in his death shortly afterward.
